Known up until 10 years ago rather unflatteringly as 'The Rag Trade area' and then tagged Fitzrovia, the area is now firmly on the map as an established office location.

This area largely attracts media companies that have been driven out of their traditional home of Soho due to high rents.

The area is well suited to media sector office occupiers, who are naturally drawn to the many 'warehouse' type buildings in the area which reflect the area's historic users. Noho office space typically features wooden floors, exposed brickwork and high ceilings. There are also a good number of Edwardian mansion blocks built by the Quakers.

Fitzrovia takes it's name from The Fitzroy Tavern in Charlotte Street and has always had a reputation for being somewhat bohemian. The UFO Club was home to Pink Floyd during London's psychedelic period and both Jimmy Hendrix and Bob Dylan played in Foley Street.

The most prominent landmark is the BT Tower, which was open to the public and housed a revolving restaurant. It was closed in 1971 after a terrorist attack.

Office occupiers in Noho include CNN, Nickelodeon and MTV, which typify the appeal to the media sector and office rents decrease as you hed northwards from Oxford Street to Euston Road.
